The Home Stretch...

This has been a ROUGH week!!! Last Sunday, my chest started to feel tight and I had this nagging cough, but nothing really worry about...well...by Monday night I was miserable and with a fever. I called the on-call doctors and the only thing I could take was Tylenol, but they wanted me to check in at the office on Tuesday to have them listen to my lungs just in case.

Tuesday's appointment proved to be a whole lot more interesting than we ever expected! My lungs were clear and I just needed to let this cold run its course. However, they discovered that the protein in my urine was high so I had to go and do more testing to see if I was on the verge of developing preeclampsia. On Friday, when I went back for my regular check up, still sick, we found out my protein levels in my urine were double what they were supposed to be and more tests followed. We had a fetal non-stress test and a sonogram to check Rocco out to make sure the preeclampsia was not affecting him. All test results for our little one came back fine and the only decision to be made was how soon we wanted to deliver our little treasure.

We were given the option of this weekend, but because my body is not really ready to deliver, it most likely would have been a c-section. In addition, because Rocco's tests looked good, we decided to hold off. However, the latest we were given was Thursday, January 31. So on Thursday, barring I go into labor, we will go in to be induced! I am excited to know when I am going to have this baby since I really do not know what to look for! Until then though I am on bed rest, to help prevent swelling and to work on getting this cold taken care of. Everyday I get a bit better, but it has been a slow process. Ryvy has been a real trooper with me and my illnesses - its no wonder I have not driven him crazy - or maybe I have and he is just loving me all the same!!!

So, I am thinking that the next post will have pictures of our Rocco and we are so excited to share those with everyone.

Until the next time...keep the prayers coming...Love to everyone!
